The work the audience doesn’t see

Passion in the Performing Arts

Starting at the community college level and continuing to this day, I have had a love for the off stage practices of making theatre come to life. With a focus on scenic design and construction across amateur to professional venues, I still find each production exciting to work on while simultaneously learning new techniques to advance myself in the field. While scenic work is what I am most passionate about, I have worked all aspects of production from lighting, sound, props, stage management, and technical direction.

Scenic Work

Throughout my career in theatre I have been tasked or hired as a lead carpenter on several productions.

Goals as a Professional

Throughout my educational and professional career in theatre, I have always wanted to advance my skills to their full potential. Utilizing the less hands-on skills developed and learned in school I hope to apply those to later projects and to have those projects further reinforce and build said skills. I wish to be able to help design and build the world of productions for future spaces. Whether that be breathing new life into established plays or to assist in the construction of the look of new productions that shake up theatre.

The idea of not only helping build new homes for plays but also encouraging new generations of artists and builders has always crossed my mind. A goal I would like to achieve is to be able to reach some capacity of educating new people into the world of what makes a production outside of the performers. Fostering the creativity of younger people that someday they will become better builders and designers than those that came before them. Before reaching that ability to pass on skills and knowledge, I must continue on my path to further my skill set so that there is as much as possible to pass on.
